Mission and purpose

The Orgasmaphoria Book Club is a curated destination for long-form reading across sexual wellness, pleasure education, consent, relationships, ethical non-monogamy, BDSM, kink, LGBTQIA+ life, asexuality, trauma and attachment, and cultural criticism.

It supports thoughtful discovery, context, and deeper learning. It is not a clinical reading list, professional certification pathway, universal safety guarantee, or endorsement of every assertion, ideology, or authorial practice represented in a book.

Inclusion criteria

We consider long-form books—including hardcover, paperback, ebook, audiobook, workbook, and anthology editions—that:

1. Center adult consent and somatic autonomy: promote bodily agency, transparent communication, consensual exploration, and emotional integrity.
2. Offer a meaningful contribution: provide evidence-based frameworks, clinical insight, foundational community wisdom, cultural analysis, or significant lived experience.
3. Provide bibliographic traceability: identify a verified author or editor, publisher, edition statement, and ISBN so readers can locate the exact edition reviewed.
4. Allow honest editorial context: can be accompanied by an Orgasmaphoria perspective, content notes, and specific cautions where appropriate.

Explicit exclusions

We do not list books that advocate coercion or boundary violations as acceptable relationship conduct; promote hatred toward marginalized groups; make fraudulent or hazardous medical, physiological, or legal claims; or present predatory, high-risk practices without meaningful harm-reduction and safety context.

Editorial perspectives, not duplicated summaries

Every published record must contain a unique, substantive Orgasmaphoria editorial perspective. It should explain the book’s contribution, identify the audiences and contexts it may serve, and acknowledge period-specific language, cultural boundaries, limitations, or areas requiring critical engagement.

Cautions, historical context, and accountability

When a book contains contested ideas, outdated scientific paradigms, significant community accountability history, or narrow demographic framing, we document that context directly. We also distinguish discussion of higher-risk practices from reliable instruction and encourage readers to pair older texts with current consent and harm-reduction resources.

Review-scope transparency

Each record publicly identifies the depth of review completed:

• Full edition: cover-to-cover editorial review.
• Excerpts: in-depth review of key chapters and representative excerpts.
• Publisher metadata: verification using publisher information, contents, and available sample passages.
• Bibliographic only: catalog and edition verification without a full textual review.

Destination links and editorial independence

Readers see the Orgasmaphoria record before outbound destinations. Where verified, records may link to independent bookstore marketplaces, online retailers, publishers, and public-library catalogs. Affiliate relationships are disclosed, and commercial relationships do not determine editorial selection.

Cover artwork verification

Before publication, cover artwork is checked against the record’s title, author, ISBN, format, and edition. We prefer publisher or authoritative bibliographic artwork used for identification and editorial review under fair use. A generated cover is used only when edition artwork cannot be located, and must be replaced when a verified original becomes available.

Suggestions, corrections, and removals

Signed-in members at the Voyeur tier or higher may submit books, factual corrections, edition updates, and removal requests. Nothing publishes automatically: staff review every request, supporting source, and proposed change. Authors, publishers, booksellers, and community members may also provide corrections with verifiable citations.
